Show Notes
We cover many topics in this episode, including:
- Acknowledging and holding space for the fact that being in transitional periods of your life can be difficult and take a lot of work to manage
- Our possessions can connect us to strong memories and emotions from the past, sometimes joyful, and sometimes full of grief - both are useful for preserving that moment…in time.
- On the other hand, trying to hold on to too many things from the past can hold you back and inhibit your success in the present and future - it can be freeing to let them go
- To help manage clutter and sentimental possessions, try taking pictures of items you’d like to let go of - the process of doing this can bring meaning and life back to those items, more so than keeping them sitting in a box.
- Sometimes grief is important to hold on to because it represents the love you had for that person or thing
- In order to create deeper connections with the friends and family you love, someone needs to lead the way by asking thoughtful questions, giving everyone an opportunity to share their true selves in a way we don’t allow ourselves to in everyday life
When we create the right container, we can suspend time. We can drop in and connect in the ways we dream of just by creating the right conditions for that to occur. – Peter
