Show Notes

We cover many topics in this episode, including:
- ‘Mindful Travel’, or practicing mindfulness when you travel, can allow you to arrive at your destination feeling calm and ready to take on the day despite obstacles on your potentially stressful journey
- Getting stressed over something that is out of your control is just a waste of your energy and peace of mind - we are so much more empowered when we act from a place of calm
- Recognize when you are not well equipped to navigate a stressful situation, and just make it your goal to get to a place of calm (‘get to shore’)
- If you need to, you can leave a heated conversation with your partner in order to calm down - the only requirement is that you need to assure them that you will be back to continue this discussion
- Negativity, noise, chaos, and distractions are being thrust upon us in modern-day society, so we have to be vigilant about slowing down and being kinder, to others and ourselves - doing that feels like an act of rebellion
- We are surrounded by so much distraction with devices, etc., that we are missing what’s going on around us, and so much chaos around us could be prevented if we weren’t just catching the tail end of it after it gets escalated
- Changing the way you feel or react in a situation can be as simple as creating a memorable gesture that reminds you to change your focus, and practicing that reaction when things are going well so that they are easier to access when things aren’t going so well

There is this sweet surrender that happens when we don’t try to carry the weight of the world with our two hands. – Robyne
