Show Notes

We cover many topics in this episode, including:
- Teachers need to remember not to only focus on the students that are excelling, but also to uplift the ones that are struggling
- Teaching a student the joy of learning is a lifelong lesson that far surpasses just learning how to read and write
- Teachers need to understand the power and influence they have on their students - they shape their self-worth, and model how people treat others who are having a hard time adjusting
- Leadership is not just a title or a role or a position - it’s influence - a way of being
- The traumas of youth can have a lasting impact and effect, so be careful what you say to children
- When confronted with a difficult situation, people often feel the need to respond, but when you know you’re not equipped to handle a difficult situation, it’s best to do nothing - this will prevent you from making rash decisions in the moment, digging yourself even further into a hole
- When demands are greater than resources, we spiral down into reactivity, or in the opposite scenario when resources are greater than demands, we are able to spiral upwards into creativity

We become what we celebrate. – Peter
