Show Notes
We cover many topics in this episode, including:
- Where you feel most comfortable should be inside yourself, comfortable in your skin, so wherever you are you can handle any situation
- We have so many important things in our lives to tend to, career, relationships, obligations, etc., and can feel you’re not staying on top of them - imagine you’re managing this with 'emotional currency' - you may not be able to give focus to all of these at the same time, but you’ve already put in the work and made so many deposits to each of them, so now you can trust that you'll be given the benefit of the doubt
- We need to realize that people can have multiple aspects to their personalities that don’t seem congruent but ultimately work together to support a person’s existence in their life - ie. a confident speaker can also worry and feel insecure
- When you need to find focus, try to find stillness and focus on one single word, and let the power of that word ground you - words like ’Trust’ or ‘Patience’ - nurture a relationship with that word - this is a ‘practice’ - something that through practice you attempt to master
- We need to get comfortable being in discomfort, and developing strategies to get us past that discomfort so we have those tools at our disposal when they matter most
Can you find a word—any word—that for you brings you that sense of peace or calm, and start nurturing your relationship with that word so that, in moments when you need it, that word feels like coming home? – Peter
