Show Notes
We cover many topics in this episode, including:
- Nothing wrong with taking a day to just chill while on vacation - don’t feel pressure to pack in a million things to make your vacation valid
- Peter discussed finding a balance between positivity and authenticity - how do we show up authentically and feel seen while not harping on negative things and giving them more energy than they deserve?
- Showing up with a positive attitude despite your hardship comes through acceptance - not seeking approval, or trying to change the situation. There is a peace that comes with attaining this acceptance
- In the process of self-awareness and growth, if we only notice our flaws, that’s not self-awareness - that’s just being mean to ourselves
- If we’re always in this place of ‘trying to do better’, where do we celebrate being enough right now? You will never feel a sense of accomplishment if the measuring stick keeps changing
- Conscious leadership is being aware of your influence
- A major factor of ‘creative inquiry’ is asking questions and looking to your past for strengths and wisdom, and learning to frame our growth/progress in an appreciative way rather than being too hard on ourselves
- Sometimes rather than looking for things to add to your life/career, you need to look for things to let go of to make room for new things
- Progress and decision-making is as much about the doors you are closing as the ones you’re opening
I think right now, there’s this pressure that we always need to be learning and growing. It’s important, but I think if we’re always in this place of always trying to do better, where do we celebrate being enough right now? – Robyne
