Show Notes
We cover many topics in this episode, including:
- Simple errands can be gratifying as a moment of calm in a busy day rather than feeling like a burden - this can be a form of self-care - think of it as ‘I get to’ do this, rather than ‘I have to’ do this
- You can choose to see a mess after a party as a burden to clean up, or you can bask in the afterglow of memories made and time well spent
- Take the time to use ‘the power of the pause’ - the moment break we take in our day that allows us to recall a memory, to relive an experience, or to remember a story, or a feeling - it can be so powerful
- You can both be grateful and still realize that some things just suck - there is no shame in that, as it’s all part of the lived experience
- Grief never goes away - we learn to make room for it and bring it with us wherever we go
- Bravely putting yourself out there and expressing your grief can sometimes be a comfort to those also feeling that same grief
- The depths of our grief speak to the depths of the love have for the person we are apart from
There’s a moment where the lessons might come or the learning might happen, and then there’s also the moments to not worry about that at all and just feel the feeling. – Peter
