Show Notes
We cover many topics in this episode, including:
- Being self-ish (just a little bit selfish) is ok - having your own needs met allows you to be of better service to others
- Being ‘self-centered’ can also be interpreted as being someone who knows who they are and who they are not - being centered in their knowing
- To put a mistake you’ve made into perspective, acknowledge what you did wrong, and then ask yourself what the headline will read in the newspaper the next morning - “44 Year Old Woman Forgot To Send An E-mail On October 21st” - saying it out loud helps you realize how inconsequential that mistake truly is
- Journalling your negative feelings can help dispel them because by the time you finish getting your thoughts down on paper, you are often feeling better about them
- It’s better to be present than perfect
There is this mixed message where we’re supposed to be superhuman and we’re supposed to be the ultimate beings for others as if we don’t also need that for ourselves. – Peter
