Episode 55: Celebrating the Little Moments

This week, Peter and Robyne invite us to celebrate all of the often-overlooked little moments which make up the big ones we are more likely to hold in our mind, and share how this practice can benefit our daily lives.

Today’s surprise questions:
Is there a meal you’ve had that stands out for you, whether it be for the quality of the food, or the company you were in, or anything that made the meal memorable?
What exercises, practices, or thoughts do you cultivate in order to maintain your state of self-awareness?

Show Notes

We cover many topics in this episode, including:
- Robyne discusses the ’Ides of March’, how she loves March regardless, and how her due date to give birth was supposed to be on the Ides of March
- Peter discusses visiting a bucket list restaurant of his in New York and how he cried repeatedly because he loved the experience so much, and got asked by the chef if they’d like a private tour of the kitchen
- Giving can bring as much joy as receiving
- For an event that is important to you, remember that the lead-up to the experience, the experience itself, and the post-experience can all be special and appreciated
- Big moments are made up of many little moments, building blocks adding up to a magnificent experience - without the little moments, the big moments can’t happen
- Holding onto only the big moments in our lives can become stagnant and empty if you’re not continuing to create and appreciate the little moments/building blocks that make up our everyday lives
- If you speak untruths, you betray your own confidence, because then your mind assumes you are surrounded by untruths, making you doubt any positive affirmations you hear
- Having a solid sense of integrity allows you to have freedom and peace of mind
- “It doesn’t hurt if you lose, as long as you weren’t outworked”

Big moments are all made up of little moments. The little moments add together to create triumphant moments. – Robyne
