Show Notes

We cover many topics in this episode, including:
- Peter discusses being at the Juno Awards and the beautiful time he had jamming with the many established music artists there, experiencing a true spontaneous celebration and mutual appreciation of music, with artists all passing instruments around to play and sing for each other
- We should not expect our partners to be everything we need in our lives - spend time with different people so they all collectively fulfill different needs - similarly we should diversify the communities we socially hang out in so we get our varying group social needs met as well
- Something useful to say to your teenager when they are going through something - “Is there something I can do for you right now that won’t make this any worse?” - this avoids the pressure of needing to make it ‘better’
- Learning to listen to your instincts and to follow them can be a valuable thoughtfulness exercise
- Fearing being a ‘buzzkill’ can sometimes limit the potential for a conversation to go somewhere meaningful
- Using the word ‘I’ can be a powerful thing - it’s the difference between ‘“Love you!”, and “I love you!” - it’s much more personal
- Robyne asks Peter what his thoughts are on her question above, the question being “Is there something I can do for you right now that won’t make this any worse?”

Part of the richness of life is having these different communities and allowing ourselves to have all parts of ourselves expressed through the various communities we engage with. – Peter
