Show Notes

Highlights:
- We tend to think 'good things should happen to good people', and are confused when they don’t, but scripture asks people of faith to “lean not on your own understanding”, because you don’t always have all the answers
- Faith truly comes in handy in moments where all the knowledge, skill, and insights you have still leave you feeling like something just doesn’t make sense - having faith can help get you through those moments
- Peter explains that his family didn’t have a deep religious tradition, but he’s leaned to lean into it further in later years
- Peter discusses having an experience where he spent a weekend with a minister and his family, and the minister asked if they could pray for him, and the experience opened up his appreciation of faith - he thought “my life will be better if I believe than if I don’t”, and so he chose to believe
- Those of faith believe that it’s your responsibility to ask God to help you through difficult times
- Robyne expresses that prayer gives her so much comfort and relief that she doesn’t have to figure things out by herself

“We’re natural-born meaning makers.” – Robyne
