Episode 131: Social Hangovers and Sour Candy

On today’s episode of In Time, Peter and Robyne sift through what it means to come back to yourself after a demanding season - from ‘social hangovers’ to the surprising science of why sour candy can calm an anxious mind. How do we find alignment in our work and relationships? What happens when we choose connection over control in creative collaborations? And what small moments are we missing that could change the way we experience our lives? Plus, Peter shares gratitude for all the love surrounding his new album, Everything Unfolding.

Show Notes

Highlights:

- Peter describes the songwriting process of his new album, and how the reaction he’s gotten from it has felt different than previous albums he’s released
- If a disagreement came about during the production of his album, Peter decided to prioritize his relationship with his producer over trying to force his own production choices, allowing his team to do their job to the best of their abilities, and creating alignment in the process
- Being in alignment brings about the best results in all situations
- Peter describes a fantasy he has of eating a raspberry pie where the ingredients are all made fresh that day, so he can compare it to how much better it would taste than a store-bought pie

- Life is measured by the moments you notice

“Sometimes your plans, you gotta let them go. Get into growing like you’ve never grown. Hands on the handles of the great unknown and cut the lines away.” – Peter Katz (from his new song Celebrate)
