Show Notes
We cover many topics in this episode, including:
- Alleviate your fear of public speaking with the knowledge that audiences connect with humanness, not perfection
- Our modern day ability to architect an image of perfection makes it harder to allow our truth and vulnerabilities to show
- Wondering ‘which is the real me - the me I think I am, the me I was 10 years ago, or the me that other people saw in a particular moment in time’ - the answer is they are all me
- When it’s crunch time, sometimes you have to put aside your more careful/thoughtful way of dealing with difficult matters and just barrel through to get things done, and that’s ok
- We tend to be very careful not to cross the line between authentically sharing the struggles we are going through, and ‘complaining’ - but we also need allow ourselves the freedom to acknowledge when we’re having a bad day, and that we’re not meant to be ‘perfect’ all the time
- Having empathy for others starts with having empathy for yourself
- Try to clear negative thoughts from your mind before going to sleep because that’s when the subconscious mind gets into deep learning
Part of what makes me feel free as a human being is that I can always be better the next day. I can always grow. Who I’ve been doesn’t dictate who I want to become. – Peter
