Show Notes
We cover many topics in this episode, including:
- Make sure to leave time for yourself to be present when (over)scheduling your life
- Doing a mindfulness scan of your body can reveal areas of tension you’ve adapted to that need attention - the same can be said about scanning your mind for stresses that you’ve adapted to
- Once we’ve learned something new, we often put that information on auto-pilot and move on to the next thing we need to focus on - mindfulness allows us to see under the hood and observe some errors in the code we’ve put on auto-pilot
- The concept of home brings a sense of safety and identity, so when we are away from it for too long, we can become restless and unsettled
- Sometimes you need to embrace stillness to reset and return to who you are
- Sadness is the perfect reaction to a situation that is sad, so there is no need for a quick fix - instead just allow yourself to feel the unpleasant feeling that's appropriate for the situation, and it will more than likely pass quicker than if you tried to suppress it
- A relationship is a work of art you are creating each day, and it dies if you stop working at it and try to just keep it as it is
I think the greatness of being human and the great opportunity of being a human is to walk into change and to be constantly asking, “What is this teaching me? What am I learning? How do I need to evolve?” That’s the beauty, the pain, and the magic of it all. – Peter
